The PASCO Structures System
The new PASCO Structures System allows you to Build trusses, bridges & cranes AND measure forces anywhere in the structure.
The basic Truss Set (ME-6990) includes everything needed to build any variety of trusses and explore the properties of I-beams. The Bridge Set (ME-6991) provides an expanded introductory set, allowing for larger structures as well as including a flexible Road Bed and Car (to which masses can be added) for studying dynamic loading as the car traverses the bridge. The Advanced Structures Set (ME-6992) puts even more flexibility in your hands, doubling the number of I-beams and adding axles and pulleys for larger bridges as well as cranes.
These sets are made up of light weight, sturdy and easy to assemble I-beams that take structure building from an idea to reality in an incredibly short amount of time. But that's not even the most exciting aspect of the Structure System.
The PASCO difference:
Building a structure is one thing. Being able to measure the forces acting on it at any location is quite another. The Load Cell & Amplifier Set (PS-2199) is what separates the PASCO Structure System from any other product on the market.
Each Load Cell Amplifier (PS-2198) can accept up to six 100 N Load Cells (PS-2200) which can be inserted anywhere in the design to measure static and dynamic loads. And because a Load Cell can easily be substituted for any I-beam there is no need to disassemble the structure to add instrumentation or change the location of a Load Cell.
Components of the PASCO Structures System
Build the structures you want to study--then measure the loads on your structure with state-of-the-art sensor technology.
- First, choose from our selection of Structures Systems: Truss Set,Bridge Set and Advanced Structures Set. (See below for descriptions of the sets.)
- Now add the electronic measurement capability: You'll need the Load Cell & Amplifier, plus a PASPort interface to connect the Amplifier to your computer.
- Finally, get real-time data display, graphing and analysis with DataStudio Software.
Truss Set (ME-6990)
This introductory Structures System set includes everything needed to quickly build a variety of trusses. A variety of I-beams give the flexibility to design and create many different structures
Bridge Set (ME-6991)
The Bridge Set contains the materials needed to build larger trusses and bridges, as well as a flexible Road Bed and Car for studying dynamic loading as the car traverses the bridge. Even build rollercoasters!
Advanced Structures Set (ME-6992A)
Build larger trusses, bridges, and other structures with this set as an addition to the PASCO Bridge Set. The included axles and pulleys also make it possible to build working cranes and other structures. (Does not include roadbed and car)
